Kintyre birds
 GreenfinchThese mini parrot-like greenfinches are both frequent & infrequent visitors to the peanuts.Known as a Charm collectively, just like its pretty goldfinch kin. |  RobinWho can resist the charm of the robin. So many people melt at the sight and sound of this spiritual little icon. They are actually ridiculously overprotective, teritorial nightmares. They can sing but they can fight, which is why collectively both a 'riot' or a 'carol' could be used, depending on the behaviour. |

 SparrowA common garden bird at our home in Kintyre. We definitely have our own 'Host' 'Quarrel' or 'Ubiquity'! They are definitely 'everywhere' and consistently 'arguing'! |  SwallowA wondrous migratory visitor annually from Africa. A handful arrive and three times as many leave at the end of Summer. One of my favourite birds. I await their 'Gulp' or 'Flight' each year after the Winter season. |
 RavenThe majority of Ravens I have witnessed on Kintyre are over on the beautiful Isle of Gigha. Their deep croak is a very welcome sound which we are lucky enough to hear each day due to the fact we have a pair very close by. |  Long tailed titIt's always a huge delight when the long tailed tits come to visit in their cute candy floss flocks (volery or snuggle.) High in the trees they fly in a congregation, the cutest of the cute! |
 WrenJenny Wren is a very vocal little leader. Independent and pretty local to our stick home we created in our garden. She graces us with her presence in our yard on occasion where she sounds to be sweetly shouting instructions at us. I'm not sure what she is saying though?! |  GoldfinchGoldie and the goldfinch gang (or charm as they are officially known) come to visit the bird feeders on the rare occasion we purchase sunflower seeds. They also devour our blessed dandelions, we let the wildflowers grow just for them and they adore them. |
 JayI've been lucky enough to spy a few Jays whilst living on Kintyre. They were much more common where we used to live. Another one of my favourites and it's nice to know they are here. I'm yet to see a 'band' of them here though. |  JackdawThis cute corvid seems to hang around with their noisier and larger corvids brothers and sisters / the rooks. Squeaky and much sweeter on the ears although their collective is known as a 'clattering'. |
 CuckooThis very naughty bird seems to return to Kintyre after wintering elsewhere. This nest gangster lets some other bird species raise its young from egg to chick, fledging and onwards! More than a few are known as an 'Asylum' - cuckoo crazy! |  Coal titCoaly is a pocket size beauty. They seem to be selective visitors to our feeders. Sometimes they frequent every day for a while then we see nothing of them for quite some time. A very special creature and member of the banditry. |
 GoldcrestI spotted a goldcrest only once on Kintyre, up by the track that runs behind the 'Dolls Houses' between Muasdale and Tayinloan. These super tiny fluff balls are supernatural! Collectively known as a 'dynasty'. |  BullfinchAnother species that are very infrequent in their visits to our garden. One of two spotted on a few occasions. You couldn't consider them a 'bellowing' as they're collectively known! |
 YellowhammerBrighter and more stunning than a siskin, not as common where we are but they have been seen! Not a flock though. |
